Article #33 - Rotation or Change

 

  It is evident that all things undergo a gradual change.

[The writer outlines changes in plants and animals, goes on to mention changes in people and communities over time, and then gets to the point.]

Water of Alcohol was hailed as a friend, his poisonous influence not understood tho’ like a secret assassin he was preying upon their vitals. Now how changed in enlightened communities he is scouted from their midst. The same might be said of many other vices. As we endeavour to improve or otherwise, and make use of every opportunity for that purpose, the mental abilities become developed, grow and expand. And as a community, we make a similar progression.

Ignorance, Error & Superstition, vanish before it. We mount higher & higher in the scale of beings

our watchword should be improvement of the mind, and as a nessessary [sic] consequence, their [sic] would be an improvement in the Social, and Phisical [sic] condition, of the human family.
